Lafayette Juniors Hosts 10th Annual Kitchen Tour

LAFAYETTE, CA - Thinking of a kitchen remodel or looking for a great excuse to get friends together? Or stumped as what to get your mom – who has absolutely everything – for Mother’s Day? If so, check out the tour of Lafayette’s Kitchens.

Tickets are now on sale for the Tenth annual Lafayette Juniors’ Kitchen Tour scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. This year’s tour features six exquisite kitchens and homes, each uniquely diverse in style and design. See the hottest trends from cutting-edge top designers, architects, contractors, and building professionals.

Over the course of the nine years of the Annual Kitchen Tour, Lafayette Juniors has raised nearly $200,000 for local charities. This year’s major beneficiary is Youth Homes, Inc. Youth Homes is a non-profit organization that has helped over a thousand abused and neglected youth in Contra Costa County recover from trauma by providing high-quality residential and outpatient counseling treatment. They serve children and teens that have been removed from their homes for their own protection by the Superior Court. There are 5 individual Youth Homes; one is here in Lafayette on Cherry Lane.

“We welcome you to our 10th Annual Kitchen Tour. Come and enjoy a wonderful event that showcases an array of six stunning kitchens. Whether you are in need of inspiration for your own remodel or looking for a local excursion, this tour will not disappoint. Gather friends and family to view these lovely homes and join us for lunch in one of the home’s backyards. You won’t want to miss this Lafayette tradition!” said Amy Parlett, President of the Lafayette Suburban Junior Women’s Club. “We extend a sincere thank you to our gracious homeowners who have opened up their beautiful homes and to all those in the community that have contributed to this event.”

Guests will have the opportunity to visit the six homes located in Lafayette and enjoy lunch in a picturesque garden of one of the homes. Attendees will receive an event guide detailing each kitchen’s unique design elements, including information on the contractors, designers, and products featured in each home.

Tickets are $35 ($25 tax deductible) with an option to purchase a luncheon ticket (gourmet lunch box from Diablo Foods) for an additional fee. A majority of the tickets are sold in advance by Lafayette Juniors or may be purchased at one of the following Lafayette locations:

  • Douglah Designs, 3577 Mt. Diablo Blvd., 925/284-4560
  • Premier Kitchens, 3373 Mt. Diablo Blvd. 925/283-6500
